Peabody Martini Match

Classic Swiss Peabody Martini single shot 300 meter match rifle made by Rudolf Elmer of St. Gallen. He was active as gunsmith from 1883 to 1922. This is a pre-WWI rifle made 1910-14 and was re-barreled in the 1930's by Josias Hartmann of Lausanne. Owner's cartouche on the butt stock, maker's name inlaid with silver on the receiver, front sight with quick detachable front sight blade, rear sight on integrated dovetail rail, rear sight with German D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster) Patent and Swiss Patent number. Double set trigger, nice walnut stock with Swiss butt, case hardened receiver with some stains and minor spots of frosting, fluted heavy barrel in the white, good bore.
