Description
Here is a Blaser 821 Luxus single-shot rifle chambered in 7x65R, in 99% condition and fitted with iron sights. Made by Blaser of Isny im Allgäu, Germany, the rifle is engraved on both sides of the receiver, and the walnut stock and forend are finished with hand-cut skip-line checkering. At 6.5 lbs and 39.0" overall, it is a light, handy rifle with the fit and finish expected of the Luxus grade. Add this one to your collection or take it to the field.
Action & Metalwork
Single-shot falling block action with underlever and single trigger. The receiver, lever, and trigger guard have a bright finish. The left side of the receiver is engraved with two red deer stags framed in oak leaves and acorns, and the right side carries a roe deer scene. The barrel is blued and marked "H. BLASER JSNY 7X65 R" on the left side of the flat (the "J" standing in for the "I" of Isny).
Barrel
23.8" blued barrel with a flat top, chambered in 7x65R. Iron sights: a rear blade sight on the barrel and a ramped front blade sight. A barrel band at the muzzle carries a sling stud. The bore is excellent.
Stock
Walnut stock and forend with a straight-grained, figured pattern. Hand-cut skip-line checkering covers the pistol grip in a wraparound pattern and the forend in a diamond pattern. Black pistol grip cap, sling stud on the underside of the buttstock, and a black Blaser-marked recoil pad. Only very slight handling marks here and there.
About the 7x65R
The 7x65R was designed by Wilhelm Brenneke and has long been a favorite for double rifles and combination guns. Its ballistics are very close to the 7x64 and 280 Remington, and it is suited to European big game such as red deer and wild boar. Factory loads in the 156 to 170 gr range run roughly 2,650 to 2,750 fps. Ammunition is loaded by RWS, Norma, Sellier & Bellot, and Lapua, so finding a load for this rifle is not a problem.

This rifle is in 99% condition. The engraving, checkering, bluing, and recoil pad all look crisp. It was originally sold to Lichtenstein before making its way to Switzerland, from where it was imported to the U.S., and includes the original receipt and "waffen-pass" from 1992.
